HM Coastguard, Sandown & Shanklin Independent Lifeboat, Police and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service have all been involved in a concern for welfare alert in Sandown tonight (Friday).
Sandown Lifeboat was tasked to launch to reports of a possible person in the water at 20:30, launching just 9 minutes later.
Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team was also tasked to incident at the Esplanade alongside paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
However, the incident was swiftly concluded when Police were able to confirm the whereabouts of the individual.
The lifeboat was recovered by 21:01 with other resources also stood down.
Emergency teams were called to Sandown yesterday too when a pile of clothes was found on the beach, sparking concern that someone was in trouble at sea.
