Emergency services are in attendance at a 2-vehicle road traffic collision on Halletts Shute near Yarmouth this afternoon (Thursday).
The incident, which has involved a VW Polo and a Peugeot 206 SW, has occurred at the junction for Fort Victoria.
No one is trapped inside either of the vehicles, but paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are checking over the occupants.
A local fire co-responder is on scene.
The road, which connects Yarmouth to Freshwater, is blocked in both directions.
Southern Vectis say their Routes 7, 27 and The Needles Breezer are on diversion via Wilmingham Lane in both directions, with delays likely.
UPDATE – The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service is now on scene alongside Police and a fire appliance from Newport.
UPDATE – 2 adult females have been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital with potential spinal injuries.
A third casualty – and adult male – has been treated at the scene.
The road has now re-opened and buses have reverted to a normal route.
