A man and a woman have been arrested by Police as part of an investigation into an alleged sexual offence on the Isle of Wight.
Officers are carrying out enquiries following reports of an incident in Newport.
A 21-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, both from Newport, are being questioned in relation to the investigation.
Hampshire Constabulary say that they both remain in custody at this time but have been unable to confirm what the pair are accused of.
Forensic investigators have been conducting searches in the local area today.
UPDATE MONDAY – Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that the 21-year-old man and 25-year-old woman have both been released from custody without charge, but remain under investigation.
