Firefighters from Ventnor and Shanklin are tackling a small property fire in Ventnor this afternoon (Sunday).
2 appliances and an officer are in attendance at The Grove Car Park off Alpine Road where smoke can be seen issuing from a bungalow.
Breathing apparatus and hose reel jets are being used to tackle the fire and bring the situation under control.
The occupants of the residential property are safe after evacuating.
UPDATE – It has been confirmed that the fire started in a cooker and saw crews use 4 breathing apparatus and 2 hose reels to bring the incident under control.
Positive pressure ventilation was used to clear smoke from the heavily smoke-logged kitchen.
The stop message was sent at 16:16.
