The Bay CE School is telling students in Years 7-11 to stay at home tomorrow (Friday) due to the impending Storm Eunice.
School officials have decided to move to a remote learning day for students based at the secondary school on The Fairway.
The main contributing reason for this is the building work currently going on and around the school site. It’s said that even with all precautions put into place, the school is still concerned at the risk.
In order to keep everyone safe to, at and returning home from school, the decision has been taken to close the school for the day.
A spokesperson has said:
”We understand this may be challenging for you as parents and carers and would like to thank you for your support in this. Unfortunately this also means we are unable to open for Key Worker and vulnerable students on this occasion due to the risk”.
No other school closures are known at this stage. However, Island Echo will be operating live updates throughout tomorrow to keep everyone up to date with all the latest information.
