Police on the Isle of Wight are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle collision on Middle Road last night (Monday).
As previously reported by Island Echo, emergency services were called to Calbourne Road shortly after 23:00. It has been confirmed that a silver Ford C-Max left the road and collided with a verge.
The driver, a 65-year-old man from Freshwater, suffered a serious injury to his right wrist and was taken to St Mary’s Hospital.
Officers investigating the exact circumstances of the collision are keen to speak with anyone who may be able to assist them. Maybe you witnessed the collision, or saw a silver C-Max in the area in the moments leading up to the collision?
Anyone with information can call 101, quoting the reference 44200108635.

I was passing and saw him skid but did not stop as I thought he righted the vehicle!
Hope everyone is ok!
That makes you a witness you should contact the police
I was no where near it!
If you have nothing sensible to say then say nothing
Nothing
Did he have lots of tissues with him?!?
Witnesses for a wrist injury??????
Its a good thing there’s nothing serious going on at the moment
Its not just a wrist, theres more to it than that, hence the appeal.
You’re right.
According to medical science there is a hand attached to this “wrist” thingy
You all love a good laugh at other people’s expense. How would you like it if this was you or one of your family who faces life changing injuries… Disgusting
