Suicide Prevention and Intervention Isle of Wight (SPIIOW) has received another £3,000 of funding, this time from WightAID.
The funding will be used for its growing frontline team members that respond to help a person in their darkest hour with thoughts of suicide.
It comes just weeks after the organisation received £3,000 from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation.
Sarah Adams of Suicide Prevention & Intervention IOW says:
“This is such fantastic news for all of us at SPIIOW. We have been granted £3,151 to purchase equipment that is required when attending to a person with thoughts of suicide this includes a radio system and an iPad to maintain communications and have quicker and better access to information regarding the person at risk amongst other items”.
The items were recently demonstrated to the frontline team ahead of what turned out to be a busy evening for them.
WightAid provides funding to charities, groups and organisations which aim to improve the lives of people who are living on the Isle of Wight.
