The Isle of Wight Met Service have issued a yellow weather warning for fog across the Isle of Wight tonight (Tuesday) and overnight into tomorrow morning.
Forecasters say that skies will clear as the night progresses and this will allow fog to develop in low lying rural locations. The fog will then gradually become more widespread as the night goes on.
By dawn some very dense fog patches are likely with central, northern and western parts of the Island most at risk, including the Solent.
Other parts of the Isle of Wight may see fog patches developing but these should be less widespread.
Through the morning the fog will burn off fairly quickly although it may well hang on close to windward coasts until late morning or early afternoon.
Travel and transport may be affected locally including cross Solent travel.
The yellow weather warning is in force from 23:00 tonight (16th April 2019) until 11:00 tomorrow morning.
