A convoy of Volkswagen vehicles is set to take over the roads of the Isle of Wight this Sunday (26th April), all in support of the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary.
Organised by Isle of Wight Dubbers, the charity drive will take place on Sunday 26th April, starting from Seaclose Park in Newport.
Participants will meet from 11:00 before setting off at 11:30, travelling in convoy across the Isle of Wight before finishing at the Donkey Sanctuary.
A wide range of vehicles is expected to take part, from classic VW campers to modern everyday models, as the island’s Dubbers community comes together for a relaxed, family-friendly event.
Attendees will benefit from dedicated parking at the sanctuary, as well as time to socialise, visit the café and meet the donkeys. An exclusive tour of the sanctuary will also be available.
Although the event is free to attend, donations are being encouraged to support the Donkey Sanctuary and its ongoing work rescuing and caring for animals.
A spokesperson for Isle of Wight Dubbers has said:
“This is what we’re all about – bringing people together, enjoying the drive, and supporting something that really matters.
“It’s going to be a proper feel-good day.”
The Isle of Wight Dubbers group has grown to more than 2,600 members and is known for hosting inclusive events that support local causes and venues.
All Volkswagen vehicles are welcome to take part, including vans, cars, projects and daily drivers, with both participants and spectators encouraged to get involved and show their support.

Lol
Seriously a great cause.
Clogging up the roads, burning precious fossil fuels and sitting on their butts in a good cause? Why not mend some old folks fences, fix some potholes or take a wheelchair- bound person for a long, healthy push in the fresh air? Oh yeah, that would take a bit of effort. It’s an ever-increasing trend to go on a jolly and virtue- signal frantically while indulging yourself . Yes they will raise money, but why not raise it while doing something useful?Think I’ll go on a luxury cruise in a good cause this year.
That is very true, but people are not caring
so sad.
