Van Mossel Esplanade in Cowes has significantly expanded the choice available to Isle of Wight car buyers following the acquisition of 2 major UK dealer groups by its parent company, Van Mossel Automotive Group.
The recent takeover of Breeze Motor Group and Ocean Automotive means the Van Mossel network now includes locations in Portsmouth, Southampton, Bournemouth, Poole, Wimborne and Yeovil.
As a result of the expansion, the used car portfolio accessible to customers on the Isle of Wight has increased from around 100 vehicles to more than 750.
By integrating with its new mainland sites, Van Mossel Esplanade says it has removed the need for Island buyers to travel across the Solent to access a wider choice of vehicles. Customers can instead visit the Cowes showroom, outline their requirements and have the team source a suitable vehicle from across the enlarged group stock.
Once selected, vehicles are delivered free of charge to the Van Mossel Esplanade showroom for collection. The company has also said it is working towards enabling customers to browse the full group inventory through a single website.
Several Isle of Wight customers have already taken delivery of vehicles sourced from Van Mossel Breeze in Poole and transported to the Isle of Wight specifically for them.
Brendan Cole, Head of Business at Van Mossel Esplanade, has said:
“Our goal is to provide Isle of Wight drivers with the variety of a national group while maintaining the personal, local service they expect from the team.
“We’ve already seen customers driving away in the exact models they wanted, cars they previously couldn’t find anywhere on the Island.”
The expansion strengthens Van Mossel’s presence in the UK automotive market and increases the range of vehicles available to buyers on the Isle of Wight, from smaller hatchbacks to larger SUVs.

Sounds great.
I usually find vehicles are slightly cheaper to purchase
on the mainland, so it’s a plus to be able to purchase
at mainland prices.
I couldn’t afford any of their cars..or any newish from mainland.I’ll stick to my 15 year old plus..that cost me next to nothing.
Nothing wrong with an old one if looked after.
