The driver of a van was pulled by Police and later arrested on the outskirts of Newport yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).
Officers from Ryde Neighbourhood Patrol Team, assisted by dog handler PC Bartle and her trusty sidekick PD Chase, pulled over the dark green van – thought to be used for removals – on Fairlee Road.
Checks carried out at the roadside led to the driver being arrested on suspicion of disqualified driving, taking a vehicle without consent (TWOC) and driving without third party insurance.
The van was swiftly seized and the arrested individual taken into custody at Newport Police Station.
