A large scale search operation is underway in The Bay area this evening (Friday) as Police, WightSAR and HM Coastguard work to locate 87-year-old Audrey Broughton, who has gone missing from Lake.
Audrey was last seen at midday today on Currie Road, near to the cliff path.
Her family – and the emergency services – are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare.
Extensive enquiries have been taking place throughout the afternoon but with no sign of Audrey, a search has now been launched in a bid to locate the 87-year-old as soon as possible.
Audrey is described as being white, approximately 5ft 10in tall, of slim build with brown/greying hair. She was last seen wearing a dress and may also be wearing a pair of slippers.
UPDATE @ 19:10 – Just minutes after launching an appeal for information, Police have confirmed that Audrey has been located safe and well.
It’s understood she has been located by Police in Lake.

Fantastic news, what a relief for the family and police. Having experienced this with my mum I know how the family must have been feeling.
Omg so stressful for family and friends, glad the lady has been found safe and well.
Well done to all involved in locating her …
I’m so glad the lady has been found safe and now back with her loving family.
