Red Funnel and Hire A Twizy have teamed up to deliver a convoy of Twizys to the Isle of Wight, where they will be available for hire to visitors and residents alike.
Members of Red Funnel staff including customer services director Murray Carter, along with Hire A Twizy volunteers recruited via their Facebook page, drove 14 of the zero carbon emission electric cars on and off the Red Funnel ferry as they were delivered to the Island on Tuesday.
The Twizys are the perfect companion for environmentally conscious tourists who want to see every corner of the Island, as well as those visiting on business. The nippy electric vehicles seat two, can reach a top speed of 50mph and travel for up to 62 miles on one charge. Visitors will even find they can park their funky Twizy for free in many of the Island’s car parks.
Hire a Twizy car hire will be available from only £49 per day and will shortly be operating from West Cowes, ideal for users of Red Funnel’s Hi-Speed foot passenger Red Jet service.
In the new year, customers will also be able to book a package deal with Red Funnel inclusive of Red Jet day return for two plus a day’s Twizy hire, offering even better value and added convenience. Plans to add East Cowes to Hire A Twizy’s locations are also being worked on.
