A local traffic management firm, HSS Hire Traffic Management, based in Newport, had £540 worth of traffic lights batteries stolen yesterday morning (Thursday).
The temporary traffic lights were targeted at Harding Shute off of Beaper Shute in Ryde sometime overnight between Wednesday and Thursday.
This is not the first time HSS has been targeted by thieves, back in July 2017, one year ago, they had 30 batteries stolen within 2 days.
The 12v batteries are used to power each individual temporary traffic light head, which are used across the Island daily.
Anyone who may have seen any suspicious activities in the area are asked to contact the police on 101.
