A moving exhibition of Titanic paintings at Cowes Library, created by Brighton-based artist Bonny Cummins, has been extended for a further two weeks.
Bonny’s stunning oil paintings plot the course of the ill-fated liner from her departure from Southampton, to her disastrous collision with the iceberg in the north Atlantic.
The Art Council funded exhibition is growing as it tours the country, with Bonny creating additional paintings commemorating the ports passed by RMS Titanic on her maiden voyage.
On 10 April 1912, Titanic sailed past Cowes, and Bonny has recorded this scene in a stunning new painting created specially for this exhibition. This painting can be viewed by visitors to Cowes Library from Friday 29th November to Tuesday 3rd December.
The exhibition was originally scheduled to run at Cowes Library from 25th October to 19th November.
Bonny is visiting Cowes Library on Thursday 5th December from 12:30 to 13:30 to give a talk about her paintings, and to show a short film about her friendship with the late Millvina Dean, who had been the last survivor of the Titanic.
Emotive Titanic music specially commissioned from Josh Cummins will also be played at the exhibition.
