Technical reasons have forced Hovertravel to suspend their cross-Solent service this afternoon (Sunday).
With less than 24 hours to go under thousands of Festival revellers head back to the mainland, the operator has confirmed that it is unable to operate between Ryde and Southsea due to technical reasons.
At around 14:00 Hovertravel said that services had been cancelled due to adverse weather, but just an hour later advised customers that the service had been cancelled as a result of the unexplained technical reasons.
An update is expected at 16:00, although it is unclear when the service will resume.
UPDATE @ 16:45 – Hovertravel services have now resumed as of 16:45 from Ryde.
