It was just after 14:30 that Police received reports of a male trying car door handles in the vicinity of Royal Exchange on Pan Estate.
Officers responded to the scene and located a number of suspects, who then fled on foot.
A short pursuit followed, with 1 of the males entering the River Medina at Coppins Bridge. The other was apprehended on Furrlongs, near the shops.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that an Audi A3 has been seized as part of the investigation. The vehicle was stopped on Furrlongs.
An 18-year-old male from Sandown and a 15-year-old male from Newport have both been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
They remain in custody at Newport Police Station at this time.
UPDATE THURSDAY – Both males have been bailed, as enquiries continue.
They have been bailed until June.
Seems to be the majority of Numpty druggies are
driving around in Audi’s.
Why is the 15 year old not in school and the 18 year old
not in
work.
Bang them up!
No place in society for druggies.
This epidemic of illegal drug supply is at the root of most of the problems in this country.
Lives are ruined , families are ruined , crimes are committed to fund the purchase of drugs and those at the top of the supply chain are laughing all the way to the bank.
We need much tougher prison sentences for all those involved. The Government need to get tougher on this problem.
These youngsters are also victims of those who recruited them.
All druggies need banging up.
The country should re-open the empty
prisons eg, Camp Hill to name a few.
More scum naff all happen to them bet jimmies parunts are proud..
