How can they run a summer service in a few months time if they cant run the winter one
Probably fill the crafts up so worth paying bit of overtime , but if the crafts/ vessels ain’t got good numbers booked, simple the thoughtless swines just cancel it easy easy .
About time some one with the power to step in on these companies give the good shake up one way or another
Given that ferry services are essential for users and that they make a massive amount of money, it would make sense for all ferry companies to have a lot of slack in the system. They could employ 100% more staff than needed and still make a fortune. Just 50% slack would probably cover all the absences and make it easier for staff to take leave, with no need to pay expensive overtime. Their staff would not be overworked, their staff would be happier, and customers would get a reliable service. By trying to squeeze out more profit with bare bones staffing levels, they are shooting themselves in the foot, and losing money and goodwill.
Half the fleet’s not running – how can they be short of staff?
It really is time this shambles was sorted out. And not by a letter from Dr Robert Seely MBE MP (for the time being).
What a complete joke red funnel is, about time we boycotted them. They must think islanders are all stupid, and we think all these excuses for cancellations are actually real.
Boycott then
Boycotting them would really have the desired effect I wish it would happen but it would have to be one big joint effort
This is what happens when management treat their staff so disgracefully. Fran and Leanna are an absolute disaster, how they still have jobs is beyond me.
oh i see mine took down….can’t imagine why..bob to the rescue try that one..
nice for all the people trying to go to work ..
This is becoming an absolute farce, ITS TIME THE FERRY SERVICES WERE REGULATED & IF FOUND NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE STRIPPED OF THEIR INCOME
The staff are working from home!….Keyboarding their anxiety and stress problems….
How many more can they shut off
Hey it’s red funnel what you all expect their renown for being total shambles .
get one bridge get shot of 2 disappointing ferry so called services
Calling for a tunnel or bridge is’nt going solve the present problem now ar anywhere in the for seeable future. These ferrie companies operate under licence so that’s the path we should take. Threaten to revoke them. Must be a licensing body somewhere fit for purpose
I wonder why no one wants to work for the ferry companies?
Another service wasting money on CEO, Managers and advertising and not on staffing. Why no bank staff, why not paying overtime etc ?
If one craft is still holed up being refitted, where are the crew that normally work on that one? Have they heard of staff rotas or call outs?

Just done all need to do this ..
Me too. Everybody sign up because we are nearly there.
Maybe the management should be trained as crew cos they cant do the job they are paid for
