The rollout of the COVID-19 spring vaccination campaign to protect some of the most vulnerable people across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight has started this week. Care home residents are being offered the vaccination from this week, with the national booking system opening for other eligible people to book their vaccinations from Monday 22nd April. Those eligible for the Spring campaign are people aged 75 years and over, and adults and children aged 6 months and over who have a weakened immune system. Dr Matt Nisbet, GP and Clinical Lead for the NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight COVID-19 Vaccination Programme, said:
“While the COVID-19 pandemic may seem a thing of the past, and we’re grateful that for the large part we are continuing to live our lives like normal, we know the virus continues to circulate. “For people who may have a weaker immune system due to factors such as age or medical conditions, having your spring vaccination helps to increase your level of protection and reduces your risk of hospitalisation if you catch the virus. “Some people may wonder why they keep being offered the vaccination, and the answer to that is simple. Viruses change over time and therefore so does the vaccine to make sure you are offered the best protection.”
For those who are eligible for the spring vaccine, there are a number of ways to get your vaccination. Many people will have been invited directly via their GP practice. But if you are eligible, you don’t need to wait to be invited and can book via the National Booking System, by calling 119, or via the NHS App, until 30th June. You can get your vaccination from GP practices, pharmacies and pop-up and roving clinics. If you’re not sure if you have a condition that means you’re eligible for the vaccination, or you need help with booking an appointment, then the NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight COVID Vaccination Helpline team will be able to help via 0300 561 0018.

Early on, people were being hospitalised and many died. The vaccination programme has undoubtedly worked since most vaccinated people do not now needto be hospitalised and people are not dying in their droves because they have the illness much more mildly. Folk have very short memories. No doubt many have now forgotten the importance of washing their hands too.

Does anyone have any credible facts/links regarding the vaccine? All the facts I have found show a reduction in people with COVID being admitted to hospital and dying. I’ve certainly not found anything relating to significant increased risks of heart attacks, strokes and cancer.
Please look up Dr Aseem Malhotra , look at his credentials . One of our if not leading doctors in this country. he is one of many leading experts that have been silenced and discredited. I think ill listen to the experts rather than a government that lent on by a large pharmaceutical company.

Seems to have done no harm to my elderly parents in there 80’s and had mild side effects when they caught the virus. Always got a small amount of negative people who funnily enough are people who have nothing in there
lives and spend all there time making negative comments on anything.
It seems to affect younger persons.
All drugs and medication increase risks for other diseases. Covid is waning because it was always going to, as did the flu pandemic from 1919. The trajectory of that did not change before OR after the vaccination programme came in in the 1990s. The vaccination may have saved SOME people’s lives, it may also have affected SOME people’s future health. Most people would have survived anyway, but those worried will want the drug. It’s personal choice. If anyone is truly worried I’d suggest a DNA test, the results uploaded to Promethease to analyse your individual genes. For example mine shows I’m naturally immune to many things, and also intolerant to things like cancer drugs. Any virus can trigger latent autoimmune disorders too.

I thought the covidiots had all died off. Maybe they been secretly taking the vax. Everyone I know who has had the jab is still alive and not had covid. Or if they did, did not know.
Of the five people I know who were covidiots and refused the jab. One is dead (55 went to pub 2022 xmas eve, caught it, dead two weeks later) two where in ICU really ill and one now has long covid and changed her tune. Only one escaped and despite knowing this spreads lies. No one speaks to them now.
Because of all this utter insane anti vax rubbish polio and small pox is on the rise again. Covidiots are a bunch of utter morons.

I know two people who had jabs, caught covid and now have long covid. I know several people who had the jab suddenly developed serious autoimmune conditions and have since died from those. I didn’t have jab (not anti-vaxxer), never had covid, but equally no other viruses in 15 years. None whatsoever. Turns out I have natural immunity (Switched on killer T cells). Now how…considering it was a novel virus? Good for them those who had the jab and are ok, good for them those who didn’t and are ok. Some will be affected by the virus, some won’t. Some with the jab, some without. Personal choice is not idiocy, either way.
