Tickets for Southern Vectis’ popular Christmas Lights Tour this December are now on sale – but they are selling fast!
Running on selected dates in the run-up to Christmas, the festive tour leaves Newport Bus Station at 18:30. From the top deck of an open-top bus, passengers get a great view of some of the Isle of Wight’s best Christmas light displays.
With the bus decked out in tinsel and lights, Christmas tunes playing overhead and Santa behind the wheel, the Christmas Lights Tour is the perfect festive night out for families, friends, couples, adults and children alike – a truly unique way to enjoy the Island at Christmas.
For 2022, the 120-minute tour will be visiting different properties and will be stopping off for a refreshment break at the Wildheart Sanctuary in Sandown. You will be able to buy mulled wine, hot chocolate, filter coffee, tea or a soft drink plus a festive treat doughnut, sweets, or a mince pie.
More information about the tour can be found at https://www.islandbuses.info/xmas-lights-2022.

Richard Tyldsley, General Manager at Southern Vectis, says:
“We’re one of the only Christmas lights bus tours in the UK – and we’ve now been running this extravaganza for more than two decades.
“This time around, we’re offering a very special stop at our charity of the year – the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary, where people can buy mulled wine, hot chocolate and other festive treats from the cafe. The Wildheart shop will also be open, offering wonderful Christmas gift ideas.
“We’re also stopping at a fabulous display at a home in Carisbrooke – which so many people asked us about, following last year’s festivities.
“We see lots of familiar faces returning to enjoy the tour year-after-year – and many tell us it’s the traditional start of Christmas celebrations for them. Our drivers love it too and they really get into the festive spirit by decorating their buses with tinsel, playing carols and dressing as Santa.“It lasts for around two hours – including the stop over. A wonderful way to celebrate the start the season!”
Once again Southern Vectis is sponsoring Island Echo’s Light up the Wight competition – with the map and public voting going live on 1st December at www.islandecho.co.uk/xmas. Entries are now open.
