Strong winds that are battering the Isle of Wight and Solent area are causing cross-Solent travel disruption this morning (Tuesday).
Hovertravel have been forced to suspend their Ryde to Southsea service as a result of the adverse weather conditions.
The operator says that an update will be provided at 07:00.
At present, all other cross-Solent services are running to timetable but delays and cancellations are expected throughout the day.
Forecasters at IW Met Service have issued a yellow weather warning for wind for both today and tomorrow.
UPDATE @ 08:35 – Wightlink say that due to the absence of an essential member of crew, the 09:30 sailing from Fishbourne has been cancelled.
Hovertravel services remain suspended this morning with an update due at 09:00.
All other cross-Solent services are running to timetable.
UPDATE @ 14:51 – Hovertravel services will begin operations for the first time today at 15:15 from Ryde.
