Firefighters have tackled a small fire at the main Co-Op store in Ryde this afternoon (Thursday).
1 appliance from Ryde Fire Station was mobilised to the Anglesea Street supermarket at just before 16:25.
The store was evacuated of staff and shoppers before firefighters entered the building and fully extinguished a small fire in a stairwell.
The lone crew remain on scene as they rid the building of smoke.
The cause is unknown at this stage but Police have been called to investigate.
