The search for missing 18-year-old Chris Koppany has entered a second day, with Police and HM Coastguard back out in Ryde in a bid to locate the teenager. Chris was last seen on Binstead Beach at around 19:00 on Thursday evening, which led to the launching of a major search and rescue operation during the early hours of yesterday morning. Around 8 lifeboats, 5 Coastguard teams, WightSAR, Police, a Police boat and a Coastguard helicopter have all been involved in the search so far, aspreviously reported by Island Echo. Search teams continue to battle adverse weather conditions to sweep up and down the coast. There are fears Chris may have entered the water. Bembridge and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Teams are involved in this morning’s continuing search alongside Cowes RNLI, Police and WightSAR.
The 18-year-old is described as being around 6ft tall, of slim build, with short brown hair and is clean shaven.
