After some 134 years on the High Street in Sandown, menswear shop Fields has closed its doors.
It was in 1890 that Fields opened at 49 High Street as a tailor and outfitter, before becoming a menswear shop in the 1920.
Since then, Fields has been an ever-present staple of the retail offering in the seaside town. But retirement has led to the decision to close the store for good.
Over the past few weeks the shelves have been emptied and customers have said thank you and farewell.

The doors were shut for the final time at 14:30 yesterday (Saturday).
However, Fields on St James’ Street, Newport remains open as normal.
47-49 High Street, Sandown is available for lease at a rate of £25,000 per annum.
