Isle of Wight man Jonathan Christopher Stasiuk has appeared at Winchester Crown Court today (Thursday) accused of the murder of 73-year-old Gerry White last Monday.
Stasiuk, 60, of Pier Street, was not present in the court in person but appeared via video link from HMP Albany, where he is being held on remand.
He was denied bail.
As previously reported by Island Echo, Mr Stasiuk is accused of killing former local councillor Gerry White at Lake Community Gardens near Shanklin on Bank Holiday Monday.
The case has been adjourned for a plea hearing on 12th August 2019.
A provisional trial date has been set for 4th November 2019.
