A man who broke into a flat and assaulted its occupant after brandishing a knife in the middle of Ryde has pleaded guilty to 2 offences and will be sentenced later this year.
59-year-old Mark Andrew Saurin appeared at the Isle of Wight Crown Court today (Monday) where he admitted aggravated burglary and possession of a knife.
The court heard that at around 18:15 on Saturday 13th August, Police were called to an incident in Melville Street in Ryde. It was reported that Saurin was standing in the street with a knife whilst shouting threats towards someone in a nearby flat.
During the incident, Saurin broke into the flat and assaulted the occupant inside.
Officers attended and swiftly arrested Saurin on suspicion of affray. He was subsequently charged with aggravated burglary and possession of a knife in a public place.
Saurin, of Melville Street in Ryde, has been remanded in custody for sentencing on 29th November.

Rubbish like that needs putting in an asylum once released from their two week, or perhaps ‘too weak’ sentence.
Bloody old people again.
