Emergency services are currently in attendance at Spring Hill, just off the High Street, which has been closed to all local traffic.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service has a fire appliance and an Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP) on scene with firefighters utilising the ALP to reach an upper floor window.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service requested the assistance of their blue light colleagues sometime around 08:30.
Southern Vectis say that their Route 3 buses are unable to serve the bus stop on this road. The nearest alternative stop is Boots.
