The residents of Orchard House Care Home recently dedicated their time and skills to knit poppies in support of the Royal British Legion during the recent period of Remembrance. This initiative aimed to honour the Armed Forces, their families, and all those affected by conflict or terrorism. Following a poignant Remembrance ceremony, our residents extended their tribute by planting poppy seeds, symbolizing their respect for the valiant heroes who have made sacrifices for the greater good. The act reflects a collective commitment to remembering and honouring the profound impact of war and conflict on individuals and communities. Among the residents, Stuart shared a touching sentiment encapsulated in the words:
“Hold my hand and with me wander through the poppies across the land. My heart for you could not be fonder while I slip upon your finger one golden everlasting band.”
