Red Funnel is advising customers of cancellations on their hi-speed Red Jet Service this morning (Friday).

The 06:45 crossing from West Cowes to Southampton has been cancelled, alongside the 07:15 from Southampton and also the 07:45 from West Cowes.

A technical issue is being blamed for the disruption to the advertised timetable.

UPDATE @ 07:54 – The 08:15 from Southampton and the 08:45 from West Cowes have now also been cancelled.

Red Funnel apologises for any inconvenience to your journey.

UPDATE @ 08:40 – It has now been announced that the Red Jet service between West Cowes and Southampton has been suspended in its entirety due to a technical issue.

The cross-Solent operator has failed to expand on what the issue is, but it is understood Red Jet 6 has broken down whilst docked at West Cowes. This means the service is unable to operate until the vessel has been removed.

UPDATE @ 10:29 – Red Jet will resume with a 1-boat service at 10:45 from Southampton and 11:15 from Cowes.

It has been confirmed that a single boat service will operate for the remainder of the day due to a technical issue with Red Jet 6.

Possibly the most unreliable bunch of services in the world, every service across the Solent suspends or cancels at the slightest thing and for any old excuse they can think of.
