UPDATED: RED FUNNEL SUSPEND SAILINGS DUE TO ADVERSE WEATHER


Red Funnel have suspended their East Cowes to Southampton service tonight (Saturday) due to the adverse weather conditions.

Driving rain and gusty winds have led to vehicle ferry sailings to and from the Isle of Wight being cancelled until further notice.

The hi-speed Red Jet service is still running to timetable.

Hovertravel have not operated their Ryde to Southsea service at all today as a result of the conditions on the Solent. The Cowes Floating Bridge has also failed to operate but is due back in service tomorrow morning.

UPDATE @ 21:45 – The hi-speed Red Jet service between West Cowes and Southampton has now been suspended.

However, the vehicle ferry service has resumed albeit 15-30 minutes behind timetable.

UPDATE @ 23:01 – Both the Red Jet and vehicle ferry services are now back in action.
