Red Funnel has launched a new Summer promotion offering 10,000 discounted vehicle day return ferry tickets for £60 in a bid to encourage more Islanders to enjoy spontaneous days out on the mainland.
The special offer went on sale earlier this week and will remain available until all 10,000 tickets have been sold or until 31st August.
Valid on selected East Cowes to Southampton vehicle ferry sailings, the fare includes 1 car and up to 7 passengers travelling on a same-day return journey, for a family of 4 travelling by car, the offer works out at £15 per person.
Red Funnel says the promotion has been introduced to make summer day trips more affordable, with destinations such as Southampton, the New Forest, Paultons Park and Marwell Zoo all within easy reach of the Solent crossing.

The operator says the 1-hour crossing forms part of the experience, with passengers able to take everything they need for a day out, including bicycles, paddleboards and picnic equipment.
Facilities on board include restaurants, outdoor seating areas and a dog-friendly lounge, while the optional Signature Lounge offers a quieter space with complimentary refreshments for passengers aged 12 and over.
The £60 Summer Day Return offer is available to book until 23:59 on 31st August, subject to availability, with travel valid until 30th September.
