A new interactive attraction described as a ‘world of play, creativity and wonder’ is set to open inside the former Mothercare store in Carisbrooke this Spring.
Random-World is being launched by the team behind Random-Rooms, the long-running Isle of Wight escape room company. The new venture promises a hands-on, open-ended experience that invites people of all ages to explore, engage and play at their own pace.
The attraction will be located at Unit 4a on Taylor Road – the same premises that previously housed Mothercare before its closure in 2019. The site has remained vacant since, following the retailer’s nationwide collapse.
Random-World is not an escape room, nor a soft play area. Instead, it is described by its creators as a fully immersive, screen-free environment designed to foster curiosity and creativity. It will consist of a range of themed environments and installations aimed at encouraging exploration, connection and shared experiences.
The creators of Random-World have said:
“We wanted to create something that felt welcoming and accessible.
“The aim is to give people time and space to explore properly and really engage with the experience.”
Admission will cost £14 per person if booked in advance, with under 4s admitted for free. Each ticket allows a 3-hour visit, and there are plans for separately ticketed special events. The venue will also be available for private hire.
An exact opening date has not yet been confirmed, but more details are expected in the coming weeks.
