A section of Pyle Street in Newport has been cordoned off this afternoon (Friday) due to an ongoing emergency incident.
Police, fire and ambulance crews are on scene behind the Co-Operative store.
It’s understood that emergency services are assisting a woman that has been injured after jumping or falling from the roof of the multi-storey car park onto the flat roof of an adjacent building.
Medical teams are reported to have been in attendance in roughly the same location this morning, although the incidents are understood to be unrelated.
UPDATE @ 19:30 – 1 person has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
Pyle Street has now re-opened to pedestrians and traffic.
UPDATE @ 20:25 – A woman in her 20s has been flown to Southampton General Hospital after sustaining traumatic injuries, it has been confirmed.
