Local Police have been assisted by the National Police Air Service helicopter in the search for an individual in the West Wight tonight (Thursday).
The Bournemouth-based chopper arrived overhead above Freshwater at just gone 21:00 to assist Hampshire Constabulary officers in conducting a search of the Easton and Freshwater Bay areas.
Although the helicopter has since moved off, landing at Hampshire Police’s headquarters in Netley, Police remain in the Freshwater Bay area conducting their search.
It’s thought that Police are looking for a female.
Several units remain in the vicinity and are going street to street in their bid to locate the person of interest.
UPDATE FRIDAY @ 00:15 – WightSAR, the Island’s volunteer search and rescue team, has been deployed to assist Police with the ongoing search.
No information has been shared by Hampshire Constabulary to date.
UPDATE FRIDAY @ 10:25 – Hampshire Constabulary has now issued an appeal for information in a bid to locate missing 44-year-old Cherilatia Holloway.
