A cordon is in place outside Slug & Lettuce on the High Street in Newport following a serious incident during the early hours of this morning (Saturday).
Police are currently guarding the crime scene directly outside the popular Newport bar, with the pavement and 2 alleyways completely sealed off.
Island Echo understands that the incident occurred sometime before 04:00.
Newport High Street remains open as normal to all traffic.
Hampshire Constabulary has been approached for a statement.
