Police have cordoned off a residential road in the heart of Ryde Town Centre this evening (Wednesday) following what is thought to be a serious assault.
Blood can be seen splattered in several locations on Union Road, where a large number of officers are currently present.
3 separate cordons have been established up and down the narrow street including outside the front of a residential property around half way down the hill.
Police dogs are being used to conduct a search of the local area.
It’s known that Police originally responded into Ryde at just gone 16:40 and spent some time searching for a suspect in the area near to Union Road following what is understood to be a ‘fight’. However, it is unclear at this time if the 2 incidents are connected.
Police arrived at Union Road and established cordons shortly before 18:00. An ambulance was also in attendance a short time ago.
Island Echo is told that the road is likely to remain closed for sometime with a forensic examination of the scene expected.
