Staplers Road on the outskirts of Newport has been closed by Police between Blacklands Lane and Landscape Lane this afternoon (Wednesday).
Emergency services, including the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, are currently on scene following what is thought to be a road traffic collision between a motorcycle and a van.
The incident occurred shortly before 16:55.
All traffic is being diverted via Briddlesford Road and Long Lane to the Staplers Gyratory. Southern Vectis say all Route 9 buses via Staplers will be following their diversion until further notice.
UPDATE @ 17:55 – It has been confirmed that a motorcyclist has received minor injuries after crashing into the back of a van.
The rider has been taken to St Mary’s Hospital by ambulance.
The road is expected to re-open shortly.

Those sort of comments are of no use to anybody Mr. Mccavity, unless you are aware of the circumstances. As far as I am aware “bad driving” is a universal failing, not confined to the Isle of Wight.
