Concerns for the welfare of an individual have led to a multi-agency emergency response to Culver Down this morning (Wednesday).
Police, HM Coastguard and Sandown & Shanklin Independent Lifeboat are all currently on scene at the beauty spot between Bembridge and Sandown.
It’s understood that an individual has been located in a vulnerable position.
Sandown Lifeboat is currently standing off from the base of the cliff on the south side of the downland overlooking Sandown Bay.
UPDATE – It has been confirmed that a 69-year-old woman from Newport is now safe and in the care of paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
Emergency teams have stood down from the incident.

Poor lady ! I hope she gets the right help. Even in maturity some of us experience hardship and depression !
Well the pensions rubbish and energy bills are through the roof it’s not easy making ends meet , how many more people will feel despair….
