Police are looking for the driver of a Ford Fiesta which has been abandoned in the middle of the road following a ‘hit and run’ collision in Sandown this afternoon (Friday).
Shortly before 15:25, a blue Ford Fiesta collided with a parked silver Skoda Fabia on Perowne Way.
The driver of the Fiesta is understood to have continued some distance down the road and failed to make a left hand bend due to the damage sustained to their vehicle. The driver then stopped the car in the middle of the road before fleeing the scene.
Police are now in attendance and are making enquiries to identify the owner of the Fiesta and who was driving at the time of the collision.
Island Echo understands the young male driver fled in the direction of Fairway Holiday Park, leaving the Fiesta – owned by his mum – behind.

Will call the police later to ‘claim’ their car was stolen. But needs to wait for the stink of weed to ware off.
