44-year-old Daniel Sivyour from Newport has been jailed for more than 6 years for his role in an organised crime gang that sold drugs on the Isle of Wight and across the Hampshire and Dorset regions.
18 members of the gang have received a combined 33 years and 8 months in prison for crimes committed between April 2019 and December 2020.
The Police investigation to bring those involved to justice was led by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit. They worked with the Border Force and other agencies to seize cannabis which was being smuggled into the country using various postal companies.
After raiding the ringleader’s house in Southampton, officers discovered message history which led to the discovery of Sivyour. He was stopped in a vehicle outside East Cowes and a large amount of cannabis was found inside. His Southampton home, which he moved out of to grow cannabis, was subsequently raided.
In total, more than £500,000 worth of cannabis has been seized by Police as well as £38,000 in cash and £50,000 in cryptocurrency. Weapons seized include 5 antique firearms, knives, crossbows and machetes.
Sivyour, of High Street in Newport, was jailed in 2022 for a total of 6 years and 6 months after pleaded guilty to conspiracy to import/supply cannabis, cultivation of cannabis and being concerned in the supply of cocaine.
In February 2021, prior to his arrest, Sivyour commented on an Island Echo article about 2 people being arrested for drug dealing stating:
“Weed is medication it’s been used for 1000s of years cures cancer diabetes pains aches epilepcy god gave us the seed to use but the docs make more money making us take tablets”.
Others convicted as part of the operation include the ringleader Stanley Woods (21), Alfie Davies (19), Andrew Stoner (22), Zak Blake (21), Daniel Burnet (25), Kyle Hall (28), Nathan Hayes (29), Lloyd White (34), Jade Stubbs (22), Robert Southwell (35), Tracy Cornock (37), Nathan Burton (27), Eduardo Nunes (22), Tyler Williams (22), Stacey Burton (34), Marios Petrou (18) and Luke Stubbs (19).
DC Swift of the Serious and Organised Crime Unit has said:
“Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our officers, we have cut out an entire organised crime gang which was the root cause of so much drug related harm and serious violence in Southampton.
“Woods was once the kingpin of the operation and now he and his associates are behind bars, the city is a much safer place and their gang has been dismantled”.

Sure there’s more scum to catch. Lad on black and green push bike who lives in Shide Road at the pinch point next to College Road is one worth searching. Seen him dealing to scum on pan Lane and the footpath next to Matalan. He’s always in and out doing deliveries.

He’s got a valid point though, weed does help alleviate some medical issues and certainly helps with some types of pain if used correctly.
