A bold new burger restaurant is set to open in Shanklin next month, promising to bring a fresh dining concept to the Isle of Wight food scene.
Shanklin Smash Co will open its doors on Friday (10th April) at 34 Shanklin High Street, taking over the premises currently occupied by Bonnygoo.
The new venue is the latest venture from the team behind The Galley takeaway in East Cowes, which has previously featured in Island Echo.
Specialising in thin, crispy smash burgers, stacked ‘dirty’ burgers and a range of loaded comfort food, the restaurant aims to offer something different in a lively and energetic setting.
The menu offers smash burgers, ribs, steaks, hot dogs, loaded fries and sharer boxes. A selection of desserts, including loaded puddings and ‘freak-style’ milkshakes, will also be available. Weekly specials and new additions are expected to feature on the menu.
One of the key attractions will be a food challenge menu, offering oversized burgers, ribs and steak challenges aimed at competitive eaters.
In addition to the food offering, customers will be able to try a rotating ‘Frozen Cocktail of the Week’, with a different option available on each visit.
The aim is to create a social dining space where customers can eat in and enjoy bold flavours in a relaxed but vibrant environment.
Ahead of opening night, bookings for sit-down eating are said to be filling up quickly.
Emily and Irving, Owners, has said:
“We’re incredibly excited to bring Shanklin Smash Co to the island.
“We wanted to create something bold, fun and different – somewhere people can come for huge burgers, loaded comfort food, great drinks and a really exciting atmosphere. We think it’s going to be something the island hasn’t seen before.”
Shanklin Smash Co officially opens to the public on Friday 10th April at 17:00.
