Red Funnel has announced another 4 cancellations on its hi-speed Red Jet service to and from West Cowes, which will badly hit those heading home from a night out in Southampton tonight (Friday).
It has been confirmed that the 22:00 and 23:10 from Southampton have been cancelled, alongside the 22:35 and 23:45 from West Cowes.
This will have an impact on those heading back to the Island following a night at the Mayflower or on the town, with a performance of the Lion King being shown this evening.
Limited availability of crew is to blame.
It comes after the 06:05, 07:15, 08:25, 15:35 and 16:45 from Southampton and the 06:40, 07:50, 09:00, 16:10 and 17:20 from West Cowes were cancelled today, as previously reported by Island Echo.
Red Funnel apologises for any inconvenience to your journey.
I know it is not always the case why they don’t run but it must be a pain when they cannot get crew for what ever reason.
They always seam to run when they are full, have you noticed how well they did during the festival, and the whole of August when demand is higher? I believe it’s all about money not about customer service, and there should be an enquiry into it.
I don’t think ‘inconvenience to your journey’ really compares to being stranded on the mainland at night in the dark.
