HM Coastguard Crews on scene last night.Three people have been taken to hospital following an incident that saw a boat crash into Gosport Marina last night (Saturday), just hours after the same vessel collided with the breakwater off the coast of East Cowes. As first reported by Island Echo, several 999 calls were made to Solent Coastguard at around 21:00 last night stating that a blue hulled vessel had ploughed straight into the breakwater in East Cowes. HM Coastguard teams from Ventnor, Bembridge and the Needles were quickly called to the North Wight, taking up positions on either side of the Medina respectively. To assist in efforts the Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 175 from Lee-on-Solent as well as Cowes RNLI’s lifeboat were also tasked to conduct extensive searches of the Medina all the way down to Island Harbour. Local teams worked to locate the vessel for over 3 hours but the search was stood down, with Cowes RNLI returning to their station at around 00:30 after ‘nothing was found’. However, Island Echo can now reveal that the boat was located in Gosport Marina at around 23:00 yesterday evening, having crashed once again. Police attended the scene on the mainland – alongside blue light colleagues from the South Central Ambulance Service – and 3 people were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not considered life threatening at the current time. It remains unclear as to just how the heavily damaged vessel managed to make it to Gosport. A spokesperson from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary:
“Our enquiries into the circumstances of this incident are ongoing.”
Imagine a world where a boat had an engine and can travel from places to places..

These people should be made to pay for the search services that were called out for hours. Stupid people wasting public money and they won’t even offer to pay a penny to any of the cost towards the search teams.

So pleased these morons delayed the ferries last night, it was great sitting in the Solent for a hour, as for those on the Osprey, bet they were happy.
I said at the time peeheads.

All that is known is that a boat crashed twice, and 3 people were taken to hospital. No mention of drink, drugs or arrests. The problem with wild speculation is that a) it demonises the innocent, b) can unduly affect the outcome of a potential criminal investigation and c) makes people look very stupid and very heartless if found to be incorrect.
But these comments sections are full of people who just love pure speculation, despite actually knowing nothing about any particular incident. Where would we be without the pitchfork brigade?
Exactly. Reading these comments suggests the IOW is teeming with experts on accident investigation, marine and civil engineering, criminal law etc. They do however seem hampered by some issues with basic spelling and grammar which does detract from the weight of the message.
Karen. The story says that the boat crashed twice.
Unless the boat drivers had stolen the boat for a joyride and had no clue what they were doing there is no other physical explanation for last nights events other than that they were drunk or on drugs.
We await the investigation outcome but we are most definitely going for DUI.
Make them walk the plank after paying for the search and rescue operation
No one has suggested apart from you that they were black. Whilst a huge proportion do get involved in crime, this is most unlikely in this scenario, as thankfully few here yet and car crime, not boat crime would be more the norm.
My Leyton, you must be fun to watch ‘whodunit’ murder and mystery programmes with.
NO speculation allowed woman. WAIT until the end, for all those you may have wrongly suspected will be now on suicide watch.
Are you related to that horrible karen, or just brainwashed at the same Uni?
Perhaps you could marry it, it might cheer up a bit, and you could spend your evenings looking up data, and perceived ‘facts’ and both never ‘daring’ to think for yourselves. A perfect match made in hell.
HAHAHA!!!! Excellent love, you’ve excelled yourself! I can see why it’s such a massive problem for you…we DO think for ourselves; it’s called critical thinking. It uses all the evidence given, and doesn’t extrapolate anything extra from the lack of facts. It means we think of ALL other possibilities and never make a conclusion until all facts are in. And, poppet, just because you disagree with someone does not make them horrible. Not everyone has to be exactly like you. Thank fook.
Oh come on, really, if you own a boat and you normally can control it properly, then it was possibly drunks onboard, stupid, or a drugs drop that went wrong and they panicked and crashed it twice trying to get away from the area. You really are not in the real world are you.
It COULD be either of those things. Equally it could be medical, stolen, adrift….THEY (apparently) issued the first Mayday….would a drug drop/tanked up person do that? Why can people not question every possibility before taking to the comments with unfounded accusations?
Grow up you weirdo. Of course it is most likely drugs or drink or some low life has stolen a craft and has no idea how to handle it.
IF peoples comment so ‘offend’ you, perhaps you best get back to the sink and ironing, and allow those who can read between the lines to speculate on the likely reasons for such incidents.
You are a very weird person. I bet you have no husband, for anyone normal could never tolerate living with such an arrogant, bitter twisted and opinionated person as you are. A most unpleasant character.
I personally think you have it all wrong about her. Karen is only a pen name. I imagine her to be a little old lady surrounded by cats and still subscribing to paper copies of Reader’s Digest, who casts her knitting to the side and paid by some far right fascist party, to actively incite fury from reader’s and keep these threads running. I think in the trade, they are called ‘fluffers’… 😉
Don’t worry Karen, all these other negative creeps don’t mean a thing.
It’s very possible that it was an innocent accident and we should be sending our wishes.
I agree with what Qwerty King says. These comments are only initial responses before all the true facts are revealed. But if you think people’s comments in these posts can duly affect the outcome of a potential criminal investigation, why are you here adding your opinions? There is no mention of drink or drugs however, incompetence can still be a criminal offence. If I took my car out one evening and crashed it twice, wouldn’t you post something like, ‘how is someone that incompetent, allowed to obtain a drivers licence?’. Had I been that stupid in my car, there wouldn’t have been 100’s of wasted manhours searching both sides of Spithead. The cost of services involved, around £2,000,000. Demonising the innocent am? Hope they’re insured. 🙂
No I wouldn’t because I would have no way of knowing WHY you crashed. It’s not my job in life to issue a diktat on you competence, and I’m afraid you’re wrong; incompetence is not a criminal offence. Driving without D Cand A is, but again it’s not my, or anyone else’s job to determine whether your care and attention was undue or not UNLESS it goes to trial and we find ourselves on the jury. THEN it could be said it can influence the outcome of a trial. Prior knowledge borne of prejudice, or, pre- judging. THAT is why I have such a problem with it.
This is a comments section, not a court of law, if you don’t like speculation perhaps read the article but refrain from reading the comments. Although it may not be proven the evidence suggests there was something amiss with this incident and you’d have to be pretty naïve to think otherwise.

Wow! This is now a proper news story. It made the BBC.
One expects that karen, a woke, leftist piece of, is perfect employment material for the BBC. Instead of telling the news as they used to do, they and she has to ‘tell’ us how to ‘think’, unless of course your comments agree with their train of ‘thought’.
Dangerous people, as always seemingly ‘nice’ and saying the ‘right’ things but fully left, and controlling and never assume they are wrong.
Let the public discuss and have free speech and opinions, for what is right ‘today’ as we see with past views, can be totally different later.

We came into Cowes on a Rib Sat AM behind a boat matching the brief description with three younger guys on really pushing the boat hard and messing about, pretty sure it was probably them, sorry I’m a passenger not a boat expert so can’t give any more detail!!
Sounds like all pissed on boaed…if found out to be all a doggy situation..should be charged for all the time and money ..running into thousands..
My thoughts exactly!!
Drunk? Drugs? All rather odd. Shame too if it was known it was in Gosport at 23:00 that searches were still going on here beyond midnight.
If they ain’t crashing vehicles on the island they are now crashing boats
F.F.S
The Floating Bridge has got competition.
Totally agree
They had probably been drinking at The Hut.
That’s in Colwell, not East Cowes.

Problem with the boat? Medical emergency? Why blacken people’s characters before facts are known?
They would have a radio or mobile phone between the three of them and would have called for help after the first accident..
No one has suggested apart from you that they were black. Whilst a huge proportion do get involved in crime, this is most unlikely in this scenario, as thankfully few here yet and car crime, not boat crime would be more the norm.

Kevin, were you / are you the ginger nipper I knew from school? If so likely a few grey tinges now.
This karen cretin is a slimy piece of woke far left rubbish and unpopular to most.
But we need all sorts as without these deeply biased wrong thinking beings, we would have nothing to amuse ourselves with.
She would like you, however, as a ging, a minority, so would be waving flags, banging drums and supporting the ‘underdog’!
