Local schoolboys George Holbrook and Kai Grace were part of the winning Eastleigh Tornadoes U16s team at the recent Junior Premier League National Championships. The pair of Medina College students first started playing for the Hampshire-based team at the start of the season travelling on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays to both train and play. Having won a total of 5 trophies in the regular season, the pair – along with their teammates – travelled to Warwick University as Junior Premier League South Coast Under 16s champions to compete in the JPL National Championships. Against tough opponents, the Eastleigh Under 16s prevailed and were crowned National Champions. Both George and Kai have been offered places on the Eastleigh Football Club scholarship programme next season.
