A man in his 40s remains in hospital on the mainland after sustaining serious leg injuries as a result of a crash between a motorcycle and a trailer in Adgestone last night (Tuesday). As first reported by Island Echo, emergency services were called to Lower Road at around 19:00 following reports that a Yamaha R125 motorcycle had collided with the rear of a flat bed trailer – understood to have been reversed out of an entrance way by a tractor. Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance scrambled the helicopter from Thruxton with medics touching down at the roadside to provide enhanced trauma care. They subsequently airlifted the male casualty to Southampton’s Major Trauma Centre. Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed this morning (Wednesday) that the rider, a local man in his 40s, has sustained serious injuries. Lower Road has now re-opened following on-scene investigations.
