A Gosport moped rider has been charged with numerous offences following an incident at the ferry terminal in Fishbourne yesterday (Sunday).
Police stopped a motorcycle on Fishbourne Lane at around 16:40 following which it’s alleged that the rider became abusive and punched an officer in the face.
42-year-old Luke Murphy, of King Street in Gosport, has now been charged with common assault of an emergency worker, using threatening or abusive words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence and criminal damage to a police van.
He has also been charged with a number of motoring offences including driving without a licence, driving without a valid test certificate and driving without insurance.
Luke Murphy has been bailed, with conditions, to appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on 4th February.
What was he even doing here on the island? Thinking he could do exactly that drive illegally, throw the book at him crush the moped, ban him from the island!
For assaulting a Police officer should result in
immediate imprisonment.
If individuals think it’s ok to do this what chance
does society have.
Bang him up.
I totally agree with you, who do these people think they are?
unfortunately a lot of it is down to the parents as these things grow up, no discipline and no respect towards others etc etc etc. Correct me if I’m wrong?
You are 110% correct, parents are too blame.
You only have to look at many of them,
lack of education is the problem.
If the parents are stupid, majority of time their
children are and the cycle continues.
I am so glad my children are grown up and
respectful unlike many persons in todays
world.
We now have an on going problem of scum breeding scum
Sadly many of them are Island born and bred.
I think that this breakdown in law and order started around the late 1980’s and as for this stabbing “craze”, when did that start? One minute you never heard of anyone being stabbed and now you only have to turn on your television or look at the papers and it is rife. The government and the courts need to do a lot more to support the police. It needs a STRONG DETERRANT.
