A yellow weather warning for wind has been issued for the Isle of Wight on Sunday.
Forecasters IW Met Service say that a spell of strong west to northwesterly winds will affect the island throughout Sunday and even though the general wind strength doesn’t look too high, there is the potential for extremely strong localised gusts around any showers that may develop through the day.
Gusts of 65mph or even 70mph are possible around the showers although these will only be rather brief and only over a fairly small area.
There is potential for further disruption on Tuesday and Wednesday but further information on this will follow closer to the time.
