Island-based, design, web and software agency, Brightbulb, has been announced as a national finalist at the 2024 UK Company Culture Awards. The team has been nominated in the best charitable/corporate social responsibility initiative for their Mince Pie Marathon charity event which this year was sponsored by Isle of Wight Tomatoes. The UK Company Culture Awards recognise organisations across the country that nurture their workforce, reward their staff, and create an environment that proves everyone is valued. It celebrates workplaces that see their staff as people and strive to care for employee’s career development, mental health, and physical well-being. Brightbulb Managing Director, Matt Jeffery stated:
“We are excited to see Brightbulb’s Mince Pie Marathon nominated for a national award. It puts our event alongside some remarkable UK, charitable/CSR initiatives. Our team puts so much effort into the event, every single year and we are thrilled for it to be recognised on a national level. Furthermore, we are proud to represent the Isle of Wight as the only Island-based business at the awards.”
Brightbulb has been nominated alongside Berry Bros & Rudd, Oban International/YMCA DownsLink Group and Redbrain & Birmingham Children’s Hospital. The category recognises the work that businesses and in-house teams do to support their local community or charity of choice. The Mince Pie Marathon is an innovative initiative created by Brightbulb CEO, Matt Jeffery, 4 years ago to help raise money for the Wight Brainy Bunch, brain tumour charity. The event has engaged businesses and members of the community on and off the Island through the sale and delivery of mince pies, helping raise close to £25,000 since its inception for charity. Brightbulb Head of Happiness, Fiona Jeffery commented:
“The Mince Pie Marathon is a big part of our company culture at Brightbulb. The whole team enjoy getting behind it and promoting the event. It creates an incredible team bond and helps with our own CSR as a growing UK business.”
The winners will be announced at an awards gala evening on Thursday 2nd May at the prestigious Sheraton Grand, Park Lane in London.
