This is your weekly round-up of some of the latest court cases heard at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court.

Monday 9th August – Friday 13th August 2021
• Vicki Neilson, 51, of Barton Road in Newport, was made subject to a 12-month community order after stealing alcohol and food stuffs from a dwelling in Shorwell. The community order includes 20 rehabilitation days and 80 hours of unpaid work. Neilson has also been ordered to pay £116 compensation and a £95 surcharge.
• Clive George Inch, 37, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to stealing £50.75 of alcohol from Morrisons in Newport. He was given a 12-week prison sentence and ordered to pay a £128 surcharge having breached an existing suspended sentence.
• Lewis Harry Dewick, 30, care of Cross Street in Newport admitted breaching supervision requirements following release from prison. He was given a 7-day prison sentence and ordered to pay £60 costs.
• Janice Evelyn Johnston, 66, of Carisbrooke High Street in Newport pleaded guilty to drug driving. She was disqualified from driving for 12-months, fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• Natasha Pink, 25 of Forest Close in Newport, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. She was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £34 surcharge.
• Charlie Startin, 22, of East Hill Road in Ryde, pleaded guilty to failing to provide and to drink driving (on 2 separate occasions). He was disqualified from driving for 36 months and ordered to complete 120 hours of unpaid work as part of a 12-month community order. He must also pay costs of £85 with a £95 surcharge.
• Amanda Greenough, 47, of Angelica Grove in Newport pleaded guilty to producing a Class B drug – cannabis. She was made subject to a 3-month community order and told to pay costs of £85 with a £95 surcharge. She must wear an electronic tag for 3 months, remaining at her property between 19:00-07:00.
• Nobuchika Abe, 19, of Leighwood Close in Ryde, admitted drink driving on an e-scooter. He was disqualified from driving for 16 months, fined £200 and ordered to pay costs of £85 with a £34 surcharge.
• Sam Devine, 33, of Merstone Lane in Arreton, pleaded guilty to drink driving. He was disqualified from driving for 20 months and fined £412. He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 with a £42 surcharge.
• Andrew Dilk, 66, of South Bank Road in East Cowes, pleaded guilty to drug driving (cocaine and cannabis). He was disqualified from driving for 15 months, fined £200 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• Timothy Young, 53, of Spring Gardens in Ventnor admitted theft from a shop. He was ordered to pay compensation of £43.97 and costs of £85.
• Tyler Cairns, 26, pleaded guilty to drink driving, driving without insurance and driving without a licence. He was disqualified from driving for 18 months, fined £230 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
