Why are some of these offenders not getting prison time here? Assault by beating? A community order? What kind of deterrent is that? The same for all these shoplifters – a fine and a stern talking to??? Look I know our prisons are full but what kind of message are we sending if the punishment is nothing more than your name in the local paper and a pocket money fine?
How right you are the courts are at fault because they are to lenient because there are not enough prisons and they are run like hotels not punishment establishments , when will we fat some realist in power and not the fairies we have now to sort this out .
